Hey guys, Hows your season goin? Just thought id make a thread to share your hunting stories so i guess ill start it.
Well opening morning, shot a decent doe just to get some meat in the freezer but only saw 8 deer that day including a 8 point i couldnt get my sights on. Now we have about 60 acres in Paris(just north of big rapids about 5 miles) and everyone around us made a rule this of 6 pts or bigger to see if it helps our herd and the second day of the season i was sitting against a tree, overlooking a bedding area which was about 60 yards away. About 15 minutes pass and i see a deer stand up and fall over in the grass. After putting my binoculars up to it, i can tell its a wounded spike and cant move so i waited incase someone were tracking it. After about 2 hrs, nothin so I decided to put him out of his misery. It looked to be about a 2 1/2 year deer. After skinning him that afternoon I found out it had been hit by a car and i lost the entire hing quarter, but none the less it made for a good meal and hopefully i see a nice buck come muzzleloading season.

Great going MI,

But as I read it...you're behind somewhat on the doe harvest end of the scale.

Lets see about 5 more of them bite the dirt by the end of the late seasons.

Congrats MI, nice deer and it looks like your having a great season. We have seen more does this year than any other year since weve owned our property (about 8 years). I knew there was a good doe crop this year but it seem like thats all we are seeing. So i dont feel bad for shooting a couple of them this year, after all i do need the meat
congrats again MIdeerslayer
