Might be headed down there this weekend with a buddy, he grew up near Clarksburg and Bridgeport, WV I believe.
I might be able to get a job down there, so I'm checking the place out to see what it's like. Trying to find a place away from NJ to live, something with a lower cost of living where I can get a nice house with some land that won't be getting developed anytime soon and has some great whitetail hunting, good fishing, etc. You know the "I wanna fish and hunt 24/7" kind of profile.
What's your experiences in WV? I'll probably land up in the Northern part in the towns mentioned above or near Keyser, WV. So lay it on me and let me know what I should check out while I'm down there, what I can expect from an outdoors perspective and from a living/lifestyle perspective!!!
EDIT: After talking with my buddy, he said the counties I'd be in/around are the following:
- Harrison
- Taylor
- Doddrige
Hopefully we have some good ol' WV boys around! ;)

I don't know much about those counties, but my aunt and uncle live in ritchie county in harrisville. Ny uncle does pretty good hunting whitetails. I hunt in the southern part in boone county. Don't know about jobs and such but they say you can get land up there cheap!!!!

DOn't know if you'll check this since it has been awhile. I'm from WV and The counties you have listed are not really known to have big bucks. but there are a lot of deer there. I used to hunt in Doddridge and the deer were everywhere. The deer were pretty small in body size too. I think some decent bucks as well as bears have been taken further north in Preston and Monongalia county or you could go slightly south into Braxton and Nicholas counties (State record typical is from here)
Hope this helps
