Does anyone out there have a gravity feeder, if so what type and what do you think of it. unsure.gif

I found that the bucket feeders with a dowel work really well. Heres a post that Don posted a while back with some real simple directions. You can use anything you want really. just keep the dowel and the hole the same size.

I have no idea how big a feeder unit your are talking about, but I put one of these up yesterday. It holds 300lbs of protein which is what it will feed for us...or about 350lbs of corn if you wish. http://www.bossbuck.com/

I set this one up boardering an area of heavy cover. Hopefully some more mature bucks will use it and reap benefit from the 20% protein. I have no plans to hunt over this unit. Really want to keep the human activity in this area at a minimum. The fence is an effort NOT to feed the local hog population.

Thanks guys for your replies. I just bought a on-time feeder, called a buckeye gravity feeder. It holds up to 200lbs. of feed. Hopefully the feeder works well. http://www.ontimefeeders.com/buckeye.html
Also what kind of feed do you guys use in your feeders? 59.gif

I go to AGWAY or the local Blue Seal store and either get deer feed or sweet feed. The only thing you need to worry about is moisture. Some of the livestock feeds will swell and clog things up if it gets to moist. Plain old corn doesn't swell but can mold if it doesn't get used fast enough.
