I only own one pistol, a Ruger Mark-II target .22 but have several long guns. I'm wanting to purchase a bigger bore pistol but am hung up on what to do. I'm really drawn to the 1911 because of what they are, reliability, custom market, and resale. If a 1911 it will probably be a Kimber or Springfield. There's another part of me that wants something concealable...maybe a Springfield XD or the likes probably a .40 or .380 rather than the .45 mentioned above. I like the idea of conceal and carry but I know that I would probably never carry a pistol in a place or situation where concealment was a issue. If I need it I want everyone to know I have it. I'd like to do a little plinking with it and maybe take it to the indoor range a few times a year. Any thoughts???
Thanks

I carried a Springfield 1911 .45 as a duty weapon years ago and loved it. I have a Springfield XD40 for personal use now and wouldn't want to part with it. They are both GREAT guns and you couldn't go wrong with either. The XD, to me is almost like a glove.
