I am going to buy a new muzzle loader for the upcoming season and wanted you guys' input. I am considering the TC Pro Hunter, but have heard great things about CVA. Does one really outperform the other? What is the best one for the money to purchase? I don't mind spending money if the results are good. Thank everyone for their input.

No firsthand knowledge of the ProHunter but I do have an Encore that was new last year. Very accurate and great looking. The ProHunter has some great features that make it even better than mine. The longer barrel, swiing trigger, 1.4 turn breach extraction, fluted barrel, etc. All of these things are items that I wish were on my encore. They are hunter friendly items that I believe make the gun even better. Don't think you can go wrong with that gun. Mine is very accurate and I love it.

You can't go wrong with the Pro Hunter. A friend of mine has one and its way better than my Encore

I have the Encore....you most ask yourself some questions first.Am I ever going to sell this gun? Is the swing hammer, shock absorbing stock, quarter turn breech plug ,engraved reciever and fluted barrel worth the extra $300 dollars? AND AS FOR THE FLUTED BARREL ON THE MUZZLELOADER............CAN YOU REALLY RELOAD FAST ENOUGH TO HEAT UP THE BARREL? ASK YOURSELF THESE QUESTIONS........AND DECIDE WHICH IS BEST FOR YOU...I LOVE MY ENCORE. SORRY ABOUT THE CAPS here not shouting just bumped the caplock.and to lazy to go back and retype. good luck drop

Knight seems to out perform all, by many means- especially accuracy.

I aggree with 12Point-droptine. I don't feel the cosmetic upgrades are worth the extra money to buy the pro-hunter. I also like the fact that you can buy extra barrels for the Encores.
Ebay has Pro Hunter barrels and stocks available should you want to go that way sometime. My 50 cal puts bullets in a 2 inch circle at 100 yards. Don't need to shoot a muzzle loader much better than that.
