Me and Bacon Jr are going up to the lease to check cams and make a bow hunt for them hogs. I will be filming Chase. I hope he gets one with his Hoyt. Wish us luck! We leave after he gets out of school tomorrow afternoon.
I just got through sharpening up them Muzzy Phantoms for Chase.
He has been shooting his bow every other evening.

Can not waite to see the report and pics of your hunt

Well, We just got in and we had a good time. The first evening we hurried into the stand on the feeder where I shot two boars in the same hunt just over a month ago. The feeder had went of before we got there. We sat till dark and nothing but rabbits came in. We went to another feeder the next morning. Another member had shot a 250 plus boar there last weekend. Once again, we say nothing but rabbits! I'm thinking this ain't good! We ran around the lease the rest of the day checking the other feeders and my cams. One of my feeders across the lake was getting hit hard from the pics on the cam, but the wind was wrong to hunt it that evening. Another spot has been really getting hit hard and hasn't been hunted yet. So, we eased down there to check the cam. Right when we got to the feeder some hogs were bedded not 30 yards away. They got up and headed away from us. We decided to hunt there. I setup the stands and we headed back to the cabin to eat and shower. By the time we finished showering it was 4:30pm, time to head for the stand. We got settled in around 5:15pm. The wind was good!
Around 6pm the feeder went off and we heard some pigs grunting and running our way. It was 5 little ones about 25 pounds each. Chase wanted to let loose an arrow on one, but I told him to hold off, because I knew them sows would be there soon. Sure enough it wasn't a few minutes latter we heard more hogs coming. Two sows came in and started eating. They stayed facing us for the longest time. Chase drew once but the sow turned again and he had to let his draw down. Finally he got her where he wanted her and drew back. I zoomed the video camera in tight and he let it fly. Right over her back! He had to have gave her a shave. They tore out never to return. He wanted to go back in there this morning but I talked him out of going. Its hard to get in there in the mornings without spooking them. Most times they are there waiting. Dad could use the rest too!

Those poor pigs were do for a break to go there way.

How old is your boy?

He's 12. Shot his first hog at 6 with his 260. He had 3 deer and three hogs by rifle and muzzle loader by age 7. Shot his first hog with his bow at 9. Yes, I'm very proud of him!

No Duane. He hasn't got any with the New Hoyt yet. I was anxious to see one go down with his new bow. We will be back up in late June for sure. Thats when Willie and Walker are coming down south to try and get Walker one with his cross bow.

Just a matter of time before he does.

Oh Yeah! I found some good spots for deer season. Need more cams to see whats passing!
