My son Cole harvested his first bear last week.We went to Manitoba. He killed him the first night. We had 3 different bears come in.Not the biggest bear in the woods, but a very nice haired animal.
Good ole Dad made him hold off on a brown colored bear which was the first to come in.I told him to be patient and let his nerves settle down.Sure enough, the bear didnt stick around very long.
I hunted 2 evenings with bow and passed up a couple bear, holding out for MR.Big.He didnt show up during day light though.
Im heading back up this coming week and try a few more days,I left 4 of my cameras with the guide and he says hes getting lots of pictures of good bear with all color phases, black, brown and even a blonde. Will have pictures when I get back.

Congrats Cole on the great bear. It doesn't hurt to have a taxidermist for a dad!
