I haven't seen that one but I started both of my boys deer hunting with a .243 bolt action. One thing I would stress it even though a .243 doesn't kick much it can be very scary to a youngster. Any high powered rifle is loud and there is some kick. I started them out with a .22 and we shot thousands of rounds learning about sight picture, etc. Always wear ear and eye protection. Once she has mastered that shoot the .243 some. One trick I have is I always load the gun and hand it to them. Sometimes I don't load it (but they don't know it) and you can really see if they are flinching and it teaches them not to flinch.

she's shot my 22 and my 410 shotgun. i think she'll do well with a .243

It'll be a good gun for her; probably pretty close in kick to the 410. I'm pretty sure it's not an NEF, but my uncle has hunted with a youth .243 for many years. He's well under 6' tall and fairly short-armed. He loves it. I took it out to one of our 4'x 4' boxblinds to hog hunt last year, and I have to say the length of the gun was pretty sweet for hunting in an enclosure.
