Hi guys/gals. To start off the Michigan forum I thought a little background statement and a pic of your buck from 2004 and/or pics from your Game Cam would be nice.
I'm Bob from Lansing. Retired State of Mich. after 34 yrs. Part-time consultant designing Computer Systems. Never during the Fall. Clients have learned this over the past 2 years.
I bow, firearm, and muzzleload hunt in Michigan and Illinois mostly. Had surgery on knee last Sept. 28th. Yea, that's right 2 days before the Michigan bow season opener. A week earlier had bought a double-bull tent blind and put it up on our 400 acre lease near Remus in Mecosta Co. Brushed it all in and put a nice comfy camp chair in it and was all setup. My son carried all my gear in and I hobbled in on crutches. The second morning had a nice 7 pointer come in and I double-lunged him and watched him drop within 30 yards. Awesome. Leg in a cast and on cruches at that. See pics below.
I got started building Game Cams a little over a year ago. Started out making a couple for myself and then it took off. Buddies and their buddies all wanted one. Well after over 60 cams now I can put together a pretty nice digital game cam. See pics below.
Well that is enough about me. Tag your next.

Hey Bob lets get this Michigan Hunting Forum rolling.
Im Eric of Port Huron Michigan. 16 years old but a die hard hunter thanks to my step-dad. Love trail cameras and have PLENTY of pics from them. Never build one yet but I do have a homebrew that takes great pics.
I Whitetail, Turkey, Coyote, Fox, Squirrel, and Rabbit hunt in the good state of MI. Whitetail hunt in Forester Michigan.
Harvested 3 deer this year. 2 does and......a button buck. Honest mistake.
First doe in youth hunt with my step-dad's muzzleloader. She was with her fawn but still took her. Eneded up having 3 bucks come out in the field grunting and a little bit of sparring after my shot. Took another doe with my bow. First bow kill!! And took the button buck with MY brand new muzzleloader that my step-dad bought for me. It is an excellent gun. Love it. Buck was about 40 yards away. Dropped him in his tracks. TAG.....WHO'S IT NOW?
Got some trail cam pics of mine from 04'. The doe is from the homebrew if you couldn't tell.lol. Hope you like them.

Hi you guys. Good to see you are posting in the Michigan forum. Eric those are some nice pic you have there. You and you Dad are going to have fun this coming season with another cam in the family. Hope to see lots of great pics. I plan on setting some of my cams up on culverts and small animal locations to see if I can get some really unique pics. Not to say I won't be looking for that big fuzzy horned monster buck as he grows and nurtures that set of bones that I am going to wrap my hands around next Fall. Just think they are his for a summer and part of the fall and then they are MINE for a lifetime. HaHaHa!!!!!
"Bones" have been revered by hunters since the first hunter put stick to string and downed his first deer. I love 'em. I have boxes of them and am starting to make household items out of them.

Recurver67: Looks like a late season bow kill. Congrats. Prime venison steaks there. I'd say that's a successful season myself. Sometimes it is just difficult. Had a few seasons like that myself.

Well, Christine here. From just outside of Algonac, but I hunt up in Clare county. Coming up on my 5th year hunting. My best kill was my first. The matriarch of a large group of deer that had haunted me all season. Got her the last day of late season firearm. No bucks yet, other than my spike this year that had a head full of porcupine quills (Most likely stuck his head under a feeder just a little too close) and was already a bit on the weak side, but he was meat in the freezer so I'm not complaining. I won't even get into 'the one that got away' since noone believed me on Hag's site...

All have been rifle and shotgun, I'm still working on the bow..
I've been building cams since 2001 whe I built my first 35mm. Once I got into digitals about a year and a half ago, it's been downhill ever since....
I know how you feel recurver67... we've been seeing less and less every year around our place. BTW, did you notice the set of eyes behind you in your pic?

Wow. If you ever come down this way and run Starville south to the end, you probably drive right past my house. Just look for the house with the tree stand on the telephone pole and the deer target out in the field.

The channels down by Palms are on the other side of the marsh from me. I also lived in Port Huron many, many moons ago.

boone175, I didn't see this until today. I remember hearing some rumors about that deer at the sporting goods dept. in the Algonac Lumber Jack.

These big city stores really know what's going on...
Where in China Twp do you hunt? Might be right in my back yard.. lol I'm about 3 houses away from the township border...
