I've called in 4 coyotes with a knight and hale coyote howler one late fall night at about 11:00 p.m. I've called MANY times before with a rabbit distress call but never had luck. When the coyotes came, we herd them running through the woods, so me and my brother ran to my tree stand with nothing but a spot light! We were about ready to climb down after 20 minutes because we didn't hear anything else and then my bro. pointed and I turned the light on. We saw four pairs of green glowing eyes 50 feet away from us! We yelled for my dad and he ran out with a gun and shot into the ground and they didn't flinch. My dad started walking toward them to about 15 feet and then they turned in a circle and then sat down. They never left the spot until about 12:00. They would do this weird thing with their head when you shinned the light on them. They'd look straight at you then they burry their head to the ground just so their eyes disappeared, then they pick their head up 10 seconds later as tall as a deer stands! We couldn't see the yotes clearly but in early fall we saw a "coyote" attack 3 deer, a day later stalk me, and stalk my brother on a tractor three days later. All three coyotes were different but they all were as big a German Sheppard. We're not sure if their timber wolves though. All of a sudden they disappeared. Have this kind of a situation happened ever to you with coyotes?

Where you at? Sounds like T-Wolves to me.
Unless you've got wild dogs. When I lived out in the country North of town. We had a pack of wild dogs chasing deer all over the place. Farmers started Bwasting them.

I live in northern ohio. We heard the howl of one after coyote howling one night and it was REALLY deep pitched. It never barked, it just howled and then all the dogs in the area were barking like no other! It sounded like a wolf. I have pictures of a canine (don't know what it is) with my s600 last mid-winter. The tail is not bushy, it looks like a bobcat's tail. I have 10 pictures of them but I still can't post it on this site! (my computer won't let me)

Hit reply, scroll down and click on "browse", locate the image file on your hard drive, make sure it's scaled down enough to allow RDHC to upload it, click on "add this attachment." Once it uploads, put your cursor in the body of your reply where you want the image, scroll down again and click on "add into post."

You did it! Nice pic.
Kind of short legs and small for a Wolf, but my guess is that is what you have there.
I'm sure others will chime in, but that is my guess.

What in tarnation! I'm at a loss. Do you have a lot of nuclear reactors or hazardous waste sites in your area?

The sideways view is a Coyote with Mange.
The rest of his tail is there It just doesn't have any fur on it.
