I was just awarded a design patent on a slate call I invented!
I got the paperwork in the mail today. Ive got to send the USPTO the issue fee( beans and taters for a while) and its a done deal.

But, you or someone else that knows about these things will have to explain to me what you've invented. It doesn't look unique or "invented". Not trying to be prickish, I just haven't got into the turkey calling/hunting scene yet, so I don't know what I'm really looking at.

What I filed for was a design patent. This is basically a design change of an existing design. The SLIM JIM call is 3/8" thick yet still has a full sound chamber. when I came up with it I had never seen one that thin before except knight and hales sweet hen but it had an open back instead of a sound chamber. I thought I am going to try for a patent. 2years and a bunch of money later and it finally is going to happen.

I will see if Ive got one around here somewhere(sold out I think). I have been taking a break from the call making since turkey season is over. I might have to go make one so I can make a sound file.
