I'll start of by saying we do not give our taxidermist enough credit ! Splitting lip eyes , shaving the nose and such , man a lot of work . My buddy helped me out a lot and it would have looked a lot worse if not for him lol . Looks so easy when you watch someone do it but it's really not and take time to get good at it .

The one I did is on the left . I still have to air brush and epoxy him . One deer is a south Jersey pine deer , the other two are from Maine . Can you tell what one is from where lol .

NO WAY !!!!!!!!

I was just telling a friend , It's kind of like drawing a rose . You know what they look like , but draw one . It's a tough thing to do and I would never try someone elses deer .

Thats what i started out with to cope with how ugly it was i made a lunch pail, hard hat and a smoke out of clay and attached it to him

over the years the clay has broke off and left with one ugly squirrel with wire sticking out all over bag.gif

I have a silver fox that looks pretty sweet. took three years to finish it though. i agree the taxidermists are artist...me not one of them

because the deer arn't actually mounted. he has got deer standing on tables with there heads stuck through a hole in the wall. roflmao.gif

To be honest I think the plaques are kind of old school and a dated look . Thats just my thinking but I remember my grandfathers heads backwhen I was a kid and all of his has the plaques .

I think it is a nice clean look against the wall .
