Ive always been a little skeptical about expandables but with all of the new expandable broadheads out there, i guess its time i give one a try. Ive seen footage of them and they look pretty neat but its hard for me to switch from my fixed bladed thunderheads since ive never had a problem with them yet(knock on wood). The only thing id be afraid of is the blade not opening all the way in time but from what i can tell they seem pretty neat. Ill let someone else try them and see the devastation they make first

They are getting allot of exposure from the hunting video pimps.
IMO they are too expensive, if aint broke don't need to fix it.

I bought a pack of the 3 blade to try last year and I'm still waiting to try them out on a deer.
Maybe this year will be the year.

I have sold hundreds of packs of them. They are expensive, but I have been offering them for a hugely discounted price of $100.00 for three packs including shipping to my internet buyers. Or $30.00 for a packsge plus actual shipping cost.
People are realy liking them.

had a freind use them last year and shot a doe and it was a impresive to say the least giant hole and great blood trail
if i were to shoot a mechanical i think it is what i would shoot i already had my montecs before i looked at or heard of them
i may look at them if i need more broadheads just because of the giant cut diam

Yes i like the idea of cuttimg a 2" slice, but I've always been a fixed man and never had any trouble with them just thought a mechanical might extend my range beyond my 30 yd selfimposed comfort zone. I got'em off of A talk for 32$ TYD so I decided to give a try . The practice tip didn't have the same POI as my feild points did though so I've been rechecking some tuning and spine areas

It is just about $1.50 for USPS and a delivery confirmation so that is a very good price. I would have only been $.50 cheeper.

a buddy of mine ordered 4 packs from the local Bass Pro store,
it's a shame what he will pay, but if Bass Pro drops the ball on the order (good possibility)
I will get up with you YankeeG

I have used the Rocky Mtn. Snypers with great success. I understand that they are pretty much the same head as the Rage and even manufactured by the same company....Don't know for sure if that's true. I think there needs to be another category of head for these things. I'm kindda against traditional mechanical heads for anything other than turks but the "cam openers" are another animal all together in my mind.

I bought some a few weeks ago at Bass Pro. They are $35 for the pack which includes a practice head.
I am going to Ontario in September for Black bear. I will post pics on what kind of damage they do

Tarheeler, do you hunt where you live? If so, it starts Sept. 8th, no?
BTW, I'm trying the slick tricks this year. They have a veritable ST army over on ATalk. LOL! Don't bash 'em! Some goober even posted pics of shooting his into a concrete block.

(I'm looking your way, trophy....LOL)
BTW again, I am skeptical of a mech BH. I feel that no moving parts is a good thing. I still might try them in the future.

Yea I do Troy. Sept. 8 coming soon, and my sons ask me every day, how many days???? And i've been skeptical @ mech. myself.. But I'm gonna givem a try.. And AT is pretty cool ..BUT I tire of the S___ Talking and and Bashing others.. But i'm on there every day. Oh yea, I'm well versed on the Slick Trick bandwagon. I've always been a Muzzy Man till Last year a got a new set up and some wac'wms and they fly excellent-- so now its broadhead by commitee for me

Man, I guess. It used to be bad enough, I didn't realize Troy was allowed there too..

By the way, I'll be shooting (if I'm lucky) the Rage 2 blades at whitetails this year but I will not do the "block" test with that head.....

Well, I must confess- I would love to shoot them this year, but I have four packs of Spitfire XP Pro's that I got at the end of last year for a discount. Guess I will be shooting them for a while. I have heard and seen great results from the new Rage's. Wow, 2" entrance wound. Anyone got pics?

Man I was this close to shooting them this year...but I setup the blind and can't shoot mechs through the mesh. Sooo I bought some slicks from MeanV..you know the guy that got booted off Atalk!
I have to say.....I like them! They didn't fly EXACTLY like my field points, but a click on the sight and they are hitting and grouping just like field points. They fly flat and spin nice....never could get Muzzy to fly like them.

Sorry I don't kiss and tell!
Kidding....he sells the CSS custom string suppressor. It is very successfully selling. He's not an Atalk sponsor...so my theory is ANYTIME he opposed a topic over there they banned him for a couple days and then finally gave him the boot. All political in my mind...maybe Sil will add his two cents.

You hit the nail on the head.
He does have the best prices on ST that I have seen.
Click on my signature if you are wanting to check him out.
I have a 3 pack of the 2 blade Rage heads sitting here but the ST were hitting with my field points so I might not use the Rage heads.
Then again you never know. LOL

I just found this post and have some pictures to contribute here. My buddy just sent me these pics in an email the other day. He said the 2 blade rage busted 3 ribs going in and lodged in the shoulder on the other side. The doe went a total of 18 yards.
Looks like one heck of a hole.

I switched to RAGE broadheads two years ago, and am just thrilled with them.
HUGE HOLES, great penetration ..... in fact 4 of the 5 deer I have shot with a Rage broadhead, were total pass thrus and 3 of the 5 deer dropped dead within 10 seconds and 40 yards.
Here is a picture of the ENTRANCE wound from a buck I killed with a 30 yard shot last October.
