Does anyone else start narrowing down the arrows they will be using for hunting ?

I know I'm not the only one that narrows it down to about 6 arrows that just seem to fly/shoot better for me then the others.
I then mark/write on the vanes the # in order of 1-6, one being the first arrow I will pull from my quiver and shoot at an animal.

or is this another part of my Obsessive Camouflage Disorder ? biggrin.gif

I do that too. Eyeball them up and down, looking flaws, warped fletchings, etc. Pick the top 4 and set them aside for money time. Don't feel alone, we're all dysfunctional. wacko.gif

I used to be like that bag.gif

Now I honestly do not get overly fussy. I will shoot a dozzen or more arrows each year with game kills and don't find many of the arrows from ground hunts. I learned that a lucky arrow is only woth one shot, so why not make them all lucky?

I believe lots of us do thta!

I haven't numbered mine, but I have put an 'x' on the vane of a few that just didn't fly right.

You dug up an old one.

It's not so much that it's a better arrow its kind of a good luck thing you know like a fav hat.
I have one arrow I consider my lucky arrow this year I killed my first turkey with it this spring and also killed a buck with it Tue.
I will clean it change the blades to the head and use it on my next hunt as well.

I have another buck that's on my hit list I hope to see before the end of the season (Jan 17).

Welcome to RDHC pruneemac I see all 12 of your post are from today & yesterday.

I used to be pretty selective on what arrows went into my hunting quiver. Honestly this year I just fletched a half dozen NANO's all white vanes with one, two, three dots, etc... Never even shot them! My first number 1 (dotted once) was bitten in half by a coyote last week. Blasted through both shoulders and left just enough sticking out the fletching side for that mutt to reach back with it's jaws and bite the damn thing in half. Dropped em in his tracks but I had to build a new one dot.

I had a favorite but it's stuck in some tree down in Kansas now. I try not to get to attached anymore. Lol

Going back out in a little bit. The first arrow that kills me a monster buck is going to be my favorite new arrow.
