bby, I have tanned a few snake skins. Salt always makes them stiff and brittle. I know it's too late now but the best solution to use is 50% denatured alcohol and 50% antifreeze (Ethylene glycol). I use tacks to secure the skin to a board, don't stretch it. Brush on an application of you solution ones a day for three to four days. This cures the skin and makes it pliable. You may help your skin by trying this now, but I've had limited success after using salt.
