i was given one of the roar calls last year and tried it a couple of times but it produced nothing. i don't think it sounds anything like a deer. i have heard what they are calling a growl or a roar and these calls are far to loud.

just my opinion though

It never did anything for me either... i actually saw more deer when i accidently dropped it out of my stand and couldnt use it... bag.gif

If you guys want a deer grunter that really works, check this guy out. He's a personal friend of mine & makes the most realistic grunter I've ever heard. Visit My Website

Between my wife & I, in the last 3 years have called in at least a dozen mature bucks. 2 of which are on our walls. It's an extremely deep grunt like a mature buck makes. When these guys come in, they come in expecting to see a real deer.

Year before last, I had a mid 140's ten on a crossing pattern about 75 yds out. I gave a few tending grunts & he closed to 35 yds in nothing flat. Unfortunatly, instead of coming on the correct side of my stand, he went to the other side & bedded in some really thick stuff. He layed within 20 yds of me for over 2 hours. When I couldn't take it any longer, I gave a soft grunt, expecting to spook him off. Just the opposite, he stood & walked into the open behind me at 17 yds, just looking to find the buck. Piece of cake shot. Only I duffed it when the cam unrolled & hit the brace on my stand.

Same year, my wife called the buck in my avatar into 20 yds. Unfortunately, it had gotten to dark for her to feel confident about the shot & she chose not to put an arrow down there. As of Dec, he was still on the hoof.

Don't quote me, but I believe $35 or $40. I'll get hold of him & find out for sure. Every call he makes is hand made & hand tuned. If you buy one & aren't convinced it's the best grunter you've ever heard, I'll buy it back from ya. If ya do decide to buy one, get on his list early, cause he's usually got a very long back log.
