first post,i really like this site

i will be hunting in 2 leftover bow stands so my shot will be well within 50-100 yards, also i am hunting on a 200 acre private lot in new brunswick canada with very little hunting pressure and varied terrain i may also hunt some big fields,i am thinking of using a doe urine cover scent and some of my dad,s "deer juice"
any thoughts on if i should us the 7.62x55?or go bigger bores like my old 30.60 or 303 enfield

If you have access to a 30.06 use it. I'm not a big fan of the 7.62 for hunting. The 30.06 is a great hunting rifle.

I thought the SKS only came in 7.62X39

SKS is 7.62X39 and works great 100 yrds or less. My wife uses one and has shot serveral whitetails and yotes with it.

my son uses a sks for whitetails. in the woods it's fine. i shot a yote with it last year at about 300 yrds.. i had to aim a little high. if you decide to use it for deer be sure to use hollow point ammo.
