Hello..

Been lurking around here for a week or so now.

Looking for opinions on Dimonds Black Ice vs their Marquis bows. Been looking on and off over the summer. Shot various bows a few times and just thought I'd get another Mathews. Been considering the Black Ice, Mathews Switchback XT/Drenalin, and the Ross Cardiac.

After today out of all of them I like the Black Ice the best with the XT a close second. Heard about the Marquis though, but nobody around has one to try out.

Opinions? What's the actual weight on it also? Advertises 2 kilograms or something of the sorts, but that's 4.4 lbs and I have a hard time believing it's that heavy?

Thanks...

Dandy buck there. I'd have a hard time switching bows just out of superstition. I hear the Marquis is a little faster, exhibits a little more hand shock, and is a little more top heavy than the Black Ice. Seems like most folks that shoot em both give the nod to the Ice. I was kindda excited about the Marquis due to the fact that I would like to go back to a little longer ATA bow some day.

first off, WELCOME

secondly, awsome buck

thirdly, i picked up one of the Marquis in an archery shop in KT a week or 2 ago and that thing was very heavy IMO

Thanks guys for the welcome and input

I'll start to keep my eyes open for a deal on a Black Ice than and yes I'll feel kinda bad leaving my old bow behind, but I'll never sell it.

It's put on several miles with me and taken several nice deer, a Russian Boar, and a 6x6 elk in the past 5 years.

This buck I chased around for a month before finally getting a shot. The week before I'd left my stand a little early and on the way out saw him and was able to stalk within 25 yards do to the strong winds, but he finally figured something was up. My largest deer to date..

First I would say try them all before buying. Now that I said that I would personally go with the Drenalin or the Cardiac. Based on specs they will be more than enough to do elk to deer and handle nicely. From my personal handingling the Ross and Mathews bows "feel" the same to me and that is silky smooth. To me thats what makes the difference, I dont want a bow that feels like I am pulling 70lbs after sitting 6 hours in the cold.
