Predator 1

Hey guys....I've been on RDHC for a while, but mostly on the trail cam area. Figured nows the time of year, so this is my first post in the shed forum here.
Over the last 4 years I've collected footage of all my shed hunts. I'm almost finished editing and will hopefully be putting the DVD out within a couple weeks.
Vids will be $15 bucks each with $3 of every sale going to a local charity here in Saskatoon. I'm just trying to see how much interest there would be, and how many copies I should get made up.
I'm leaning towards starting with 50 copies and seeing what happens, but I get a much better deal at 100 copies.
Any thoughts, suggestions...are welcome!

Definitely put a 'trailer' together and pimp it on this site and all the other deer freak sites like ArcheryTalk and Bowsite ect. I'm interested, but I need to see a little action to wet my appetite.
Sounds great

I was thinking about that actually....The intro I put together would work great for a trailer I think. I'll see what I can do tonight!

Thanks....I think the vid turned out pretty well. Just some finishing touches and fine tuning and it should be done soon.
Shed hunting this season......well has been pretty bleak so far. I've been out only once and found 1 shed. I've been putting most of my time into this vid. I want to get it done and out before I start full swing. I'm definitly starting to get the itch now!

So how soon will you have the video done and produced for sale?
Do you have any leads on some Giant whitetails that survived the hunting season?

I'm hoping the vid will be ready in 2 weeks or so. It was my plan to have it ready for distribution about the begining of the shed season, so so far I'm on track.
I do have a couple leads on some good bucks, and one real good buck, that made it though....hoping to find some sheds off any of them!

Good clip. I am wanting to learn as much as I can. I have been throwing around the idea of filming my shed, turkey & deer hunting the past few years. I just don't know what I am getting into. What do I need to get started other than a camera? Thanks for your time.

Yeah! Videoing your outdoor experiences is a very enjoyable hobby. I started collecting footage for this shed video about 4-5 years ago....starting with a digital 8 mm camcorder...then graduated to a Mini DV...which I still use to this day.
I'm looking to get more of a Pro camera now that I'm into this a bit more now.
Yeah..definitly start with a camera...doesn't have to be the best one out there, but go for at least a mini DV....get a tripod, or a couple of them. I use a taller one, as well as a very short one to get some cool "Ground Level" shots.
You might also want to look at getting a decent accesory mic for the cam, as well as a wireless Lapel mic to put on your self for interviews (that's something I need to get yet).
If filming yourself from a treestand, you might also want to look at getting a tree pod for the cam.
There's quite a few entry level editing programs out there that would probably serve you well, and will hep you learn the ropes of editing.
I'd be glad to share any more tips with you!
Take care

Oh Yeah.....almost forgot....
I'm burning the final copy of the DVD to disc right now, and hopefully everything looks good, and I'll have it to the copy place by the end of the week, and have the copies ready for distribution by the middle of next week.
I'll keep you all posted!

I just posted it on an Ontario hunting forum, I hope you don't mind. I can give you a count when I get some feedback from members there. Did you go for the 100 copy option?

DVD is now in the hands of the copy place......I have until monday to decide on the 50 or 100 option. Definitly get a better deal with 100, and I think I'd be able to sell them....I just keep going back and fourth.
Copies should be ready by the midde of the week.

Thanks for all the orders so far everyone!
In addition to having the DVD added to my product order page, I had my web designer make a special page dedicated to the video. Check out this link for a better video description with pics.
http://www.monarchimages.ca/spirit.phpClick on the first image (which is the DVD cover), there will be some text at the bottm, after finishing reading put your cursor over the top right corner of the image to make the "Next" button appear..to navigate to the next image..repeat until you made it to the end. I really like how my web designer set this up!

Is the dog in the video trained to find sheds? I've always dreamed of a dog like that.
