i got a mount done about 9 years ago, and had one of the tines fixed on it, it was about half broke. It looked perfect until now. the putty or whatever material used to connect the two prices of bones is starting to come off and now the horn is starting to get really loose. I could glue it but not sure how that would look? how can I fix this without taking it in and still make it look good. Not sure how to blend the two pieces back together so they look like one
it seems there is a piece of wire connecting the two pieces of horn. I was thinking bondo then sanding and trying to stain it to get a close color?

please help...

Would the original taxidermist do the repair free of charge?
I would make a very simple and polite request and go from there.
