Here is what I plan to use to protect my plot until it gets some growth on it. Anyone use this brand?

Designed for smaller applications, this charger is suitable for electrifying up to 15 miles (60 acres) of wire but is flexible enough to be useful for protecting barns, implement sheds or stables.

I haven't but I am curious about how you set everything up to keep the deer out. How many strands, wire or tape, 2 fences a couple feet apart, etc.

It is a two stage fence. An outer single strand with an inner two strand fence.
