i have set out a deer feeder when there was plenty of snow on the ground. they used it almost every night. now the snow has melted and i havent got one pic of eny deer in two days. i was wondering why they arent useing my feeder and if they will ever come back. the feed im using is corn.

probably munchin on some grass. When our snow melted i saw 20+ deer every morning at a golf course on my way to work. My guess is since they havent been able to eat it in so long, its a way to change it up a little. Also how old is your corn? ive heard of corn going old and that deer dont like it. just a guess. btw what kind of feeder? completely enclosed or is there some way for snow/rain to get into it?

the deer are probably after different nutrients that they can't get from corn. once the snow melts and things start blooming or buding out, the deer will change there feeding habits.

yeah corn is more like a candy that doesn't particularly attract deer til the fall and winter months when there's not much left living or if its covered in snow

The deers system makes it hard for them to extract the nutrients from corn in the winter. The go into a slower metabalism so they can make better use of the natural available foods, like bark, leaves, twigs etc. A lot of that stuff has been covered by snow and not available to them. Now that the snow is gone, they're eating the foods that are available.
