Hey guys, who is using arrow wraps? I am ready to jump in but need a little advice. If I ruin a fletch can I replace it or do I have to replace the entire wrap and all fletchings? I know you normally scrape the glue off but if you do on a wrap won't that ruin it? Any other ideas? I want to enjoy this not get discouraged. Thanks!

Usually you will have to scrape away part of the wrap where the fletch was, but if there is not a lot of left over glue then you can leave the wrap the way it is and just re-fletch the missing vane.

I've experimented with the wraps some and did have to scrape away part of it when refletching. I actually ended up going ahead and scraping the entire thing off before I was done. I found a dull putty knife worked wonders for removal. I tried many other methods of removal that left me pretty aggravated before stumbling onto the dull putty knife method.

The zipstrip that I use for taking off fletchings worked really well for taking off wraps as well.

MN does that zipstrip hurt the carbon at all? I suppose no more than a razor or knife. I assume they sell those at Cabelas

No it doesn't hurt the carbon at all. It is made specifically for removing fletching or feathers. It actually works better than a razor/knife. You could probably find it on Cabelas.

I sent a message to Rick at
Battledrum and he sent me a couple sample wraps. It was SO EASY to put on, I am hooked on wraps forever!

The wrap looks awesome.

What length is it? 4 inch or 6inch? Getting my shopping list together to order the tools I need to build and fletch my own. Definately going to try some wraps.

It is 6". I am waiting on more wraps and I sent my Arizona EZ fletch back to Cabelas and am going to give the Bitz another try. I am excited to start shooting blazers. The one and only blazer I ever fletched is above my desk...I robin hooded it into another arrow. Dumb luck but that is my only experience. I am excited about them, such a geek, I know.

I put some wraps on today, they look great; just waiting for my bitz. I just had something occur to me though, now that I have put the wraps on with my bare hands, how do I clean them to make sure the vanes adhere without taking the print or design off? Can I use denatured alcohol?
The answer is no...I just tried some denatured alcohol on a sample wrap I have, it took the printing off. Maybe I just have to wipe it down with a clean cloth...

Try some warm soapy water, rinse and dry well. That should clean them up good enough and be harmless to the wraps.

That sounds like a good idea.
