Guys, think I am going to go back to the bitz...does anyone use the bitz to fletch blazers? If so, how far from the end of the arrow shaft do you start the blazer? Pictures please...

Thats all we use at work. I place the vane or feather 4 notches down from the end of the clamp. It is the best fletcher I have ever used.

MN please post pictures if you can, I would like to see a blazer in your clamp on an arrow if possible. Thanks!

Most arrow companies recommend doing an inch from the end of the shaft on any fletch. Thats how I was taught also. I won't have any pictures though sorry. There are a bunch of lines on the clamp and I just go on the 4th line from the bottom of the clamp.

I fletch Blazers with the Blitz and I must admit that sometimes it can be aggravating. Here's my biggest tip...

Biggest tip: Leave about a 1/16 to 1/8 between the blade portion of the clamp and base of the Blazer vane. Seems like this lets the Blazers flat base sit better on the shaft.

I'm very open to suggestions on this. If that sounds like a crazy thing to do I don't mind being told so. cheers.gif

I actually haven't had too much of a problem with the blazers at all. I just loosen both the knobs on the bitz and fit the blazer to the shaft so it sits flat on the shaft. Just pull out the Goat Tuff after that and the vanes come out perfectly flat on the shaft.
