Just ordered a new Taurus pistol. It's a six shot revolver that will chamber (and is designed to chamber) 410 gauge shotgun or 45 long Colt. The idea is that it's actually for my wife. She's always wanted a home defense gun but didn't really feel comfortable with my pistol and none of my shotguns fit her at all. This seems perfect as you could put 4 or 5 410s in there so hopefully it won't be deadly through a wall and then load 1 or 2 of the 45s in case the job needed finishing. I think it would work equally well for intruders or man killer dogs trying to get in the yard. Also would be great for the slippery slimy reptile types and easy to carry. Anybody have one? Guess I should've asked before placing the order.

I got a Taurus 689 .357 for EVERYTHING when I got it. Home, collector piece (kinda' nice-looking - full lug, vent-rib), hunting (6" barrel), and driving a cab while in college.

I'm happy with it...
