Trophy motivated me. Been meaning to put in a small food plot for the past 3 years, but have never taken the time to do it. Saw Steve's post and had a bag of clover/grass mix from the Minnesota Deer Hunter's Association Banquet.
It's about a 25 X 25 foot area, beneath one of my bow stands. Snipped out all of the young growth, chopped out a few roots, small stumps, raked it twice with a garden rake, spread the seed, raked over it again, then ran it over with the 4 wheeler. Gets a good share of sunlight, plenty of moisture. Have no idea what the acidity of the soil is...hope it grows.
