i bought a kit today and it came with a plaque, and a bracket with holes drilled in it and 3 screws.
It says to attach the bracket to the plaque then use the 3rd screw to secure fan to board.... do i have to screw into fan itself?
btw i got the hs strut 3 beard model

Truthfully IDK-
But the way I did it was to salt it down for a while then I stapled it to a peice of old barn wood and then I took a small rack and skull cap and put over the button-Looks perdy cool - Esp for my sons room

Travis if its like mine you take the take apart the plaque (its 2 separate parts) and line the metal plate up with the holes on the plaque and screw the plaque back together with the plate in place. the plate is probably bent so you can fit the fan between the top part of the plaque and the plate. There should be a hole predrilled in the plate so when you put the fan in place, you can screw it right into the base of the fan to hold it. Im not sure what the other two screws are for (unless they are for the plaque itself).
btw before you take the upper and lower parts of the plaque apart make sure your beard will fit in the hole. If it dont, i would put the beard in place while you have it apart and screw it back together to make a snug fit with the beard. I put a little too much apoxy on mine so i had to do it this way.
Ill post some pictures of mine when i get a chance, i think we may have the same type of mount
