i was walking through the woods and i was walking on what i thought was a small game trail but turned out to be a deer trail. the place it leads to is a perfect hunting spot but the trail is way to small for me to get back there without spooking anything because of all the branches and sticks. i was wondering if i could cut this trail to make it bigger so i can get back to the spot without making alot of noise.

If you do it early (like in the next couple of months) yes. However, if it is the only way in and out for the deer you may not want to be walking in and out on it anyway. You would be better off finding an alternate route.

You dont have to get into the area it leads too. If you know the deer are using the trail, you can set up anywhere along the trail where you can get a good shot and stay downwind. Itll create a good ambush point for when the deer are coming or going. This is how many guys who have food plots hunt when they dont want to sit right over the plot. They will pick a tree within shooting distance of one of the main runways coming or going to the food and intercept the deer. I think scouting and picking out good spots is one of the funnest parts of hunting. cheers.gif
