Hey guys who is still using 4" vanes? I know Steve is...I have tried Blazers and I like them but I just don't get good contact or adhesion, it matters not if I am using my AZ EZ or the Bitz (I am not a Bitz fan - love the AZ). Anyhow, when I fletch up a 4" dura vane they are perfect. I know it's easy to get caught up int eh Blazer hoopla (I have) but I continue to have trouble with them...even after 5 minutes in the fletcher. Please shout out if you are using 4" and love em...I think I am going to stick with them...

I switch back and forth between Blazers and 4" vanes on a regular basis. cheers.gif

We've had problems every now and then with the Blazers sticking but I use the Duravane Predators and haven't had any problems. Using the low profile 4" vanes for my arrows right now so I can shoot the Hunter class at Worlds but will go back to the Predators for hunting.

IA, my 4" vanes stick perfectly, the blazers have too many issues. How do you like the predator performance? Are they every bit as good as blazers? How well do they fly?

Personally I like the Duravanes better then the Blazers, never had any problem with the Duravanes sticking. They fly great. We never had any problems with AAE (what we use for 4" vanes) or Duravanes sticking, just the Blazers every now and then. Using Goat Tuff glue mostly and first thought it might be that but it seemed to work on the rest okay. Tried different ways to prepare the shafts but didn't really seem to matter.

I had switched to Blazers a few years as. But had nothing but trouble out of them. I am back to 4" vanes and will keep using them.

I started off using the 2" blazers, and like most, I had numerous problems with the vane adhesion even though I was very meticulous in my work. I also did not like the variation in weight and dimensions of the vanes from each other and especially between different colors. I recently switched over to the flex fletch flash vanes (FHP-200) and am very impressed with them. Weights are spot on, and the overall dimensions have little/no variance in size. I haven't shot them with a big broadhead yet, but I don't feel that I will have any problems with them. They may cost a bit more than other 2" vanes, but they are well worth it for the quality you get. NO need to worry about a vane coming off or not performing using these vanes cool.gif

I just like the look of a small vane or blazer, I ordered some duravane predators from Cabelas and will try them out, if not, then like Steve, I'll stick with 4". Goat tuff works perfectly with my 4" duravanes and I get awesome adhesion. I fletched up a blazer yesterday with loc-tite superglue and it appears to have adhered nicely so if I stick with blazers I may use that...although, if the predators adhere great and fly great I may go with them, or back to the 4" and call it good.
