For personal reasons (money..

) i have decided to hold off on a new bow this year and stick with the ol' Hoyt Magnatec. Very solid shooting bow but needs a tune-up. Needs a new string, sight and rest and i was curious what you guys prefer. I want to go with a drop away rest but not sure what kind. i was looking at the rip-cord and that looked like a good rest but id like your opinion first. Also, what do you guys use for sights? Likes? Dislikes?
Thanks guys

I have a Trophy Taker Drop away rest that has performed flawlessly for 5 years. They are very simple and very efficent. My sight is a Trophy Ridge with 3 Vertical pins that I likevery much.

Cobra Boomslang is a great sight for the money. Impact Archery also makes a good durable and very BRITE sight. Go with the Collector if you want 3 pins or less.
Rests, ripcord, quad, Trophy taker and what I realy like is the Limbdriver and I have been shooting the Whammy and realy like it so far.

Trophy Takers are hard to beat for their simplicity. They are what I use. I've tried the QAD but couldn't find one that would stay quiet. All of the ones I had developed a rattle. I also used a Limbdriver on my 3-D target setup and had trouble with the cord running from the rest to the limbs stretching.
As for sights, I love Spot Hogg. They're pricey but they're built like a tank. I've never had a failure.
I use Vapor Trail strings on all my bows and the ones I set up. A quality built harness set for a decent price. Winner's Choice are very good as well but they are a lot more expensive.

i have a cheaper drop away, i think it's called a diamondback or something like that. it does alright but you had better have a steady draw or it will fall off of the rest.
i really like my sight, it's one of the cheaper extreme 3 pin sights. i found it on sale for 40 bucks. it's hard to beat for that price

Spot Hogg sights are the cream of the crop IMO for sights...and you have a no worries warranty with them as well!
I shoot a QAD HD Ultra Rest and love the full containment, yet drop away feature.

Well I dropped my bow off yesterday to a local bow shop to have sent out and torn apart and have everything greased up and checked out. Friday it'll be tuned up and have a new string, cables, silencers, kisser, and peep sight put on. I didnt think it was to bad for a little over $100. It really needed it. When i pick it up im going to get the rest and sight so im hoping to make up my mind by then on what Im going to get

I was looking at the new G-5 sights and they look pretty nice but a little on the expensive side.
