Eastky Bowhunter
Back in Feb of 2006 DDW and I ordered a couple hundred persimmon seedlings from the Ky Division of Forestry. I planted a little over 100 at my hunting property. I planted one at home just to see how well they would do. I marked some of them when I planted them, but 2 years later I am having a hard time locating some of them. Some are doing ok. Some have died. Some have been eaten by the deer. Heres a picture of the one I planted at home. Its over 6 feet tall. Not too bad for a 3 year old tree. I plan on buying about 25 more this spring and planting them at home. Then letting them grow for 2 years and move them over to the property. This one will be moved early next spring. Hopefully in a few years they will start producing.

i've seen 6 ft. persimon trees hold 30 or 40 persimons in the past. they look kind of funny when they produce and they're not very tall.

the one in the yard is looking really good. coolsmiley.gif
