Full Version: Pretty happy with my plots this year

Been a really wet year here this year, but through persistance & patience, we were able to get about 20 acres of food planted again this year. It's broke up into 3 different fields. In the last couple months, most of my plots have been under 4' of water twice. Sure glad my creek goes back in it's banks quickly, otherwise, we'd have nothing for the wildlife left.

Corn has lots of double ears.

This is my worst bean plot. Planted in way less than ideal contitions. Saturated ground with low ground temps. My other 4 bean plots look awesome. Fully canopied & blooming like crazy. Sorry, no pics of them this time.

Team 4, there should be plenty of deer on my place to choose from again this year.

Sweet. I wish I had a cornfield. I might have to plant a mini one next year.

The field with the beans is 8.5 acres & 100% surrounded by timber. 95% of the evening hunts will produce deer sightings from this field. I've seen some absolute dandy's cruising this field in the mid morning too.

All told, I've got 137 acres of my own & am able to hunt another 300 plus on 2 joining neighbors. Of my 137, forty is open ground, over 20 of which is true food plots. (corn, beans, sunflowers, milo/sorghum, clover & cereal grains will be planted in a few weeks. The other open acres are in 3 different crp programs. 8.5 acre warm season grass/wildflowers 3 acres tree restoration. The tree restoration has clover as a ground cover, so that's 3 more acres of food plot as far as I'm concerned.

Pinwheel that is so cool. Nice set up! coolsmiley.gif

What equipment do you have?

I tried to check out your food plots and wild flowers link but it would not let me see anything.

I have been trying to put wild flowers in my ditch for years with only minor success. I started a food plot a few years ago and doubled it this year. It seems to doing well. Although my old plot (I replanted it this year also) has more grass than crop. I have to see if there is a chemical I can fix this with.

I would like to see your link if possible.
