But with everything going great and my shotting as good as it's ever been I decided to throw a monkey wrench into the mix with only 3 weeks til the bear opener and replace my sight. I flip flopped around between the Sword and the Spot Hogg. Then I norrowed it down to the Hogg-It and the Hunter. I went with the Hogg-It. I've been shooting with the 6" dove tail mount on my Sure-Loc for three years and I like the fact you can move the sight to align perfectly with your peep. Something a fixed mount can't do. For $15 bucks more it was an easy choice for me.
Here's the deal. I set the sight up yesterday set the 2nd axis with a 4 foot level and took 'er outside to the target. (I still need to check the 3rd axis.) I set the pins up at 20, 30, 40 , 50 and 60 yards. The micro adjust is way more than micro, that thing really moves the pin :thumbup All in all I had the sight on and set up with all the pins out to 60 yards in about an hour. Then I put it away and did some work that I've been neglecting.
Saw the XT just sitting there today looking all cool with it's new sight so I picked her up and headed out the door to take a few shots. I didn't get to play with it nearly as much as I would have liked to yesterday. I've heard all the "hype" about this sight and now I have to say it isn't hype, this sight is rock solid and badd azzz. The pins are very bright with the wrap.
Here's my 60 yard group from a cold start. I was laughing as the arrows were hitting, three of the shafts were touching. I :X my new sight.
I put the bow away after this grouping. Maybe I'll shoot again later this evening. I can't say enough good things about this sight. I didn't put that big goofy knob with the hogg on it either, just tightened down the allen screw that it comes with.
