Here ya go D. From the hot tub to the buck is 50 yards. I should have recorded the first shot, the second one in the video is high. I used a W7 sitting on the deer to capture the video. I don't know why but it makes me laugh every time I watch it.
You can see the blades do open on impact. I am surprised how much penetration I still got at 50 yards. I'm done punishing my litttle 3d Rinehart with broadheads now. This is the same arrow and broadhead I got a pass-though with on a doe last December. I plan on using the same arrow (new head) on a bear this week. This arrow also saw some action in Kansas on a crazy turkey (that I don't want to talk about.)
Just wicked holes with these things.

very cool trophy. it's too bad you can't get your hands on one of those cameras that you slow way down to see the entire flight of the arrow.

Steve, I was out shooting mine yesterday and like on the video I could hear a hiss. I would be interested to see if you shot the same scenario with a field tip to see if there is a noise difference. It IS elk season here now and I am DYING to get out!

I think that too, but some of the critics claim the Rage are noisier than others, thought that might be a good test.

Lance,
I've never noticed a difference between the Rage and field tips. I can tell ya one thing if the animal hears any hiss, it's too late. Lights out.
I'll try to get the cam set up again and shoot a few field tips into it.
Wish I was out West.

I think you are right, I was shooting the other day and I am shooting well out to 40. I am ready. Season has begun, a friend of mine killed a 5 pt in western CO and a buddy from WY said they have killed 2 (he does some guiding). He said the one bull already had 35 cows gathered up and they're bugling. It has been much cooler here so that may have kicked them in...however I am not sure the temperature kicks the rut in but I suspect when they are cooler they feel more like moving around. I am going up Saturday night or Sunday morning for a day hunt then the following Sunday I am going to go for about 4 days. Will let you know how I do, I wish you could have made it out, but how about next year!

I am using Rage 2 blade as well this year. I just came in from shooting some last min shots just to check everything out. From 20 and 30 I shot 1 1/2" groups. Season opens in the morning. I feel like a kid on the first day of school.

I need to find someplace in W. Ky to bow hunt I'm only about 30 miles away.
Then I could start bow hunting in Sept rather then Oct.
How much are NR tags anyway ?

That was fun, I hear the rage heads more than field points, but my Slick tricks whistle as well. I like the 2 inch rage, sure hope I can open up a few animals with one this year.
