I would like to know the same thing. Seems to me they'd be death on geese.

We used real round bales in Sask in 2002 for hunting Sandhill Cranes.. They work very well as you can see.. ( Jack, sorry about the hijack)

I would guess that they would work for unhunted or lightly hunted geese...but normal Canadas with hunting pressure would be difficult to sucker inot one of the bail blinds in an open field. cheers.gif

I too have been thinking about getting one from Otter.... but I've not heard and real feedback. Most of the places we goose hunt have "0" round bails in the fields. I'm afraid it wouls stick out like a sore thumb. If the geese were used to seeing round bails, I'd think they would work great. As I get older, it's getting harder and harder to climb in and out of my layout.

My reasoning is if its "natural" to the area, anything will work, including bales of hay. our blind has a few pine trees real close so we just use pine branches to break it up. Works real good but i think geese are a lot like deer. If you stick a blind up the day before season starts and they are locals that frequent the area, then they will be somewhat skiddish, especially as the season progresses and they get wiser. I also think that a good spread of dekes and a good caller can fool even the wisest
