I have participated in the WHIP program. Some of the practices that I am getting cost share payments to implement include:

Controlled Burning of about 20 acres
Invasive and introduced grass control
Native Vegetation restoration
Chemical site prep to plant Longleaf Pines
Seedling and Planting cost share for planting Longleaf Pines

The contract limit is $5000.00 but it helps if you are going to implement the practices anyway.
