I bowhunt all season long. I always carry a grunt tube but never use it unless I see the buck and he doesn't come within range. It rarely brings a buck in all the way (even in rut). I wondered if there was some type of decoy there, if I would get more response. All I need is 40 yards. I get about 70, 80 all season. Any suggestions?

I've had mixed results using a decoy.
First time I ever used one I'd just rattled/grunted and 30 seconds later I had a little basket rack come just tearing in. I drew back, hit a branch with my arrow and skimmed the top of his back. He took off, ran about 30 yards and turned around and saw my doe decoy still standing there and came right back.
Drew back and made a good shot that time.
That was a good 8-10 years ago, just when they were starting to hit the market.
I have taken two large bucks that came right in and a couple others that were drawn in as well. Couple years ago I had a little fork-horn try to mount it a few times before he finally flipped it over and jumped back and looked around like "God, I hope nobody saw that". I was laughing pretty good at that.
Have yet to spook a buck with my doe decoy, but does hate the things and than your better off not having it out at all if you know your going to have does around.
I have also tried antlers on it a few times. Have drawn in a few smaller bucks, but they've gotten spooked off once up close. Never any experiences with the bigger guys.
