They sent out a press release today saying they could not make a singtole cam faster than 340fps so they built a double cam(not binary or hybrid).
To my understanding Mathews has been sold to a company in the fishing industry. Finaly a new bow will be built and has been.
Hoyt is for sale as well. They put Hoyt up for sale when they closed Reflex.

Bow prices are sky high across the board.
I have no idea how we are going to buy for 2009. Right now we are selling lots of bow packages around $400-600
For 2009 there is not many HIGH end bows set up for a grand.

shot one of the new solocam models yesterday. was told it was 345 fps, it was quick. draw length was about 2 inches too long for me but it's a nice bow (should be for $825 bare bones) quieter than the drenaline but not as quiet as an XT. seemed to be hard to torque the bow but that may have been because I was drawing the bow so far back due to the longer draw length. It has a little "bump" at the end, I wouldn't call it hand shock but just a little something, the bow had no after market dampeners on it. I'm sure with some limbsavers or bow jax and possibly some sort of sts device you could do away with ALL of the "bump"

was told the new 2 cam bow samples would not be out until Jan. The solocam models should be available by then. both models will come with two brace height options. the faster of the 2 cam bows is going to have a 5" brace height, my forearm already hurts.

http://mathewsinc.com/static/monster.aspThe MSRP may be that high, but when I ordered mine, it was over $200 less than that

They will still be selling and using the Solocam for their Mathews line. The dual cam is the McPhearson line. Matt Mcphearson (owner of Mathews) bought back his old company name and is releasing bows under this line. Go to their website and watch the interviews with Matt on the Monster bow and it will explain.

mathews has not been sold to a fishing company. the new monster is being marketed as a mcpherson series bow built by mathews.

Shot the monster yesterday, it's fast!!! It wasn't the 5" brace height model it was the longer one, plenty of wrist clearance. It draws a little rough but hits a solid wall. the new riser dampeners that mathews has makes a huge impact on the feel of the shot. between the two newer models I prefer the reezen to the monster, just a smoother shot. Sticking with my XT though, it's one smooth shooting bow, may have to buy a set of the new dampeners.
