I live in an area where bucks that many hunters across North America would consider big are rather common.
I had seen a good one after the muzzleloader season closed and by the time the rifle season opened had seen him about six or eight times. I was really hoping to get a shot at him. I had access to several pieces of property where I had been seeing him and felt if I could spend enough time at it, I might get a chance.
I learned this morning, that he is likely dead. Shot by another hunter very near where I had been seeing him. Good for the hunter as it was a legal kill.
To the best of my knowledge, he has a 6x7 main frame with a nontypical point off the left brow. If his right side was a good as his left, WOW. Even if his left was ONLY as good as his right, WOW.
I haven't had a chance to see it or measure it yet but the stories I have heard say it grosses 183. That would have been a good boost for Team 7 Rack Attack!
This is a photo taken from a video clip I shot the evening before the rifle opener.

And a link to the video itself: http://vimeo.com/2262955
I am heading to the farm for a couple days to mourn. If my source follows through with his promise of pictures I will update this thread when I get back.
