No. You'll be fine for now. But when regular shotgun season starts on Dec 1st and everyone and there brother are running deer drives from daylight until dark for 7 days then you'll see a big change in deer movement.

I would also try to save a little money and get a newer shotgun for next year. H&R makes a nice cheap single shot slug gun that you can get fairly cheap. I have one with a scope and have less than $175 in the whole set up. I use it when I come up to Ohio to hunt.

Good luck and hang in there.

Here is a link to the one I was refering to. You can find then used at most guns stores or pawn shops fairly cheap. Shop around and you'll find your self a deal. Also do not buy just before season open. You'll find a better deal in the off season when gun sells are down.

You could try mounting a scope, maybe even a laser one on the gun you have and buy some good rifle slugs and your old gun may work better than a newer one. Those rifle slugs make a big difference, I got a nice 8 pointer years ago at 110 yards looking down at the gold beed. If you have used that gun on ducks, partridge, etc... You will do just great with it on deer. Oh make sure you clean the barrel, not to much oil they smell that stuff. If you buy new take alot of shots to make sure it's all set up right. I have heard many a story about guys missing the biggest deer using their new guns... Just a few points that have made my hunting trips great. Anyways good luck what ever you decide.
