This buck was actually posted after it was taken...its Greg's first deer ever! (MN_Whitetail's cousins boyfriend)..never met him till that day.
He really wanted me to do a shoulder mount for him. I explained to him Im still a beginner and showed him a couple pics of my other work.
He seemed to trust me with his trophy and I hope he will be happy with it. He's mostly just paying for supplies + a little extra for the effort.

Tons of practice and referance material. I dont know what kind of inscision your making on the back to get the skull out, but you said your hands hurt from sewing. Try a short Y inscision. I have gotten a few replacement cape that were cut from the V in the way to the end of the cape. Had to sew it all. It took awhile. I make my Y the shortest as possible because I dont like to sew. I did use a Y insicion, But Im thinking I could have made it shorter than I did.
