My life is consumed in hunting. I spend all year scouting, putting cameras out, and walking the woods constantly. Rifle season rolls around. I don't even want to hunt with a gun. People that have never even walked out in the woods seem to shoot a nice buck every year. I feel bad going out and shooting a buck with my gun. I love hunting but I hate the feeling of a deer having no chance. Is this odd? Does anyone else get this feeling?

Since I started bow hunting I am not sure if it is the drive to be a better hunter or what, but hunting with a gun has really lost its enamor with me. I did not buy a gun tag the last two years and I can say I did not miss it at all.

It is really something to get a deer within a distance to see the whites of its eyes and it has no idea that you are there. That is cool!

I really enjoy bow hunting but me honestly i was really happy when gun season came around. I had one buck here at the house that would always get by me becuase he wouldnt stop for me to get a shot at him with my bow.

I think alot of people can relate to that.

As for me I never even thought about hunting with a gun.
Like you said, too many people can just go out there not knowing anything and shoot a monster...thats not hunting, thats killing.
When you take the time to know the habits of the animal your hunting, and more so...if you Respect the animal you are after....that is Hunting.

Not saying a good hunter who knows what he is doing isnt a hunter. Plenty of awesome gun hunters out there!...its just not for me.
