I currently have a whisker bisquit as my arrow rest and love it. One big + that I like is it keeps my arrow from falling out. I have heard alot of positive talk of the fall away rests and am try to decide if I will purchase one with my new bow purchase this spring. Any opinions about these two styles of arrow rests?

I have a Trophy Taker Drop Away rest that I wouldn't trade for any thing. They sell a arrow holder that sticks to the shelf of your bow that holds the arrow in place. You can turn the bow upside down and arrow will stay in place. When you draw bow the arrow comes out of holder.

I used a Wb up until 2 years ago.
I didn't like how it messed with the fletching although it was an easy fix by just using a hair drier on them for 5 minutes to straighten them back out.
I changed to the QAD I like how if you have to let down the string with out releasing an arrow the drop away doesn't drop.
http://www.qadinc.com/c-5-.aspxHave also heard good thing about the Ripcord.
http://www.ripcordarrowrest.com/If you checked the links you seen both have full arrow containment.

I shot a trap door for years then went to the WB when I got my Tribute
Now I'm back on the trapdoor
It's a fall away you manually cock each time then it's fall is triggered
by inertia- I can almost lay on its side with out the arrow coming out
and draw and let down with no trouble

I have never used a drop away. When I first saw a WB I thought to my self, wow that is just what I need and after getting a WB saw no need for any other type of rest. As it is I can't shoot at the same spot on a target 30 yards and under with out wrecking the fletching or nocks on my arrows. So I don't see a drop away improving my accuracy. Plus anything with moving parts will end up biting you when you don't want it to. I'll stick to the WB.

The only reason why something with moving parts would bite you when you don't want it to would be because it wasn't set-up correctly. I've never had one fail on me in 3 years of using a drop away and people I've set them up for have never had a problem. I just ordered my QAD Ultra Rest. I had the ripcord, but didn't like it as much as the QAD. I'm getting the Ultra Rest Pro in AP camo. Can't wait till it shows up. Should work well with my new Hoyt.

Or a little moisture and it freezes.

The only reason pretty much anything will fail is because of human error. The funny thing about us humans is we prove over and over that we're good at making errors!
I've had a WB on my bows for 5 years now. It has no detectable effect on my accuracy, and because I shoot Blazers, it doesn't hurt them 1 iota. I've had the same dozen arrows fletched with Blazers for 2+ years now, and the only one I've refletched was because I shot broadheads at the same spot (woops!).
The only negative I can see about the rest is I replace the biscuit every spring, whether it needs it or not. So it costs me $15 a year to maintain.

I been using a trophy ridge for about three years. Love it! You do have to watch not to let the arrow fall off. To fix this I used a piece of arrow left over from cutting my shafts, cut it to fit and glued it to the outside edge of the rest of the bow. Then I took a some mole skin and lined the whole "trough" including the piece of arrow. Cut out a little slit in the mole skin for the arm. Works great and I don't have to worry about the arrow making any noise when I draw.

I use drop aways. I like the spothog whammy and the Limbdriver by vapor trail.

QAD ultra rest hands down...has full containment (and you can let down and it still is contained) but yet it is a drop away. So you get the best of both worlds

Have you shot the QAD on your new Monster?
Just curious if the new models get and stay out of the way on the faster bows. It would not drop fast enough on the X-Force.

No, I don't have the Monster yet...unfortunately.
If you tie in the drop away cord at or below the mid line of the grip, you shouldn't have a problem with it dropping out of the way

I shoot the QAD as well. This last December was brutal....I hunted with it in -10 to -20, set it in the snow while lowering out of trees, it went from warm truck to -10 temps.
It worked like a charm.

My point is proven then. Nothing can go wrong unless its set-up incorrectly.

I used to use a Drop Away with cord but found it unreliable as the cord would stretch , and I would continuously have to adjust it. Switched to the Muzzy Zero Effects for my Hoyt UltraMag and I haven't looked back since. They have also come way down in price in the last couple years as well .
Mark Land at Muzzy Tech Support was also incredible to deal with . He walked me thru the process via Email with any set up issues I experienced ( Needed to fine tune for my short draw length ) . The product is a relatively easy installation , which includes a video to set it up .
