I recently saw a video on you tube about the FOB. So I was wondering just how many people are using them. They are made by Starrflight. Any insight on this would be great.

I think they are pretty cool, I tried them but had issues with the FOB laying against my lip. It shoots very well. I ended up going back to the trusty 4" vane. If you are interested I'd suggest you try them out, pretty cool.

They are neat, but you can't use anything that is full containment for a rest. If your rest doesn't drop fast enough than it needs to be fixed to work with the FOB. They are different for sure.
I used them last year, and am very happy. I use a QAD HD, whcih I consider to be full containment as well as a drop away. I had no issues with clearance. They are pretty amazing in a crosswind. I shot some arrows with vanes vs. FOB's in a crosswind, and there is less drift.
I shot 5 deer last year with them. I lost two of the FOB's. One lost FOB was on a complete passthru, but in tall grass, and I just couldn't find the thing. I saw it come off, but just gave up on looking. The second lost FOB was not on a passthru. It was a hard quartering away shot, and the FOB was lost somewhere along the blood trail. The other three deer were all shot with the same FOB, and in each case it was within a few feet of the impact point.
One of the reasons I tried them was because I got new shafts. I thought I would give it a whirl before I fletched them up. I was impressed enough to leave them on all season. I like how simple they are, and there is no shaft cleaning, prepping, etc to refletch an arrow. Also, my block target was getting worn out, and the arrows started to sink past the fletchings. Well, I didn't like what it was doing to my fletchings, so now the FOB's just pop off, and you slide them back on.
Don't try to shoot groups with them I shot my first Robin hood when I tried this. I was pretty stoked, but I just don't shoot at the same bullseye any more. they don't sustain a hit very well.
