Starting in march, A feeder is going up in my hunting spot here at home filled with 200 lbs of protein and corn. Also, a salt station will be setup by the creek.
My question... Can I use a big bag of rock salt? I want to make a very large mineral lick...

Travis, Salt has little nutritional value for deer. It is more an attractant. You would be better off getting a bag of premixed minerals specific for deer or get the ingrediants and mix your own. I mix my own.
1 part 18 % Di-Calcium Phosphate
2 parts Trace Mineral with selenium
A small amount of Beast Feast for flavour

Well, Attractant is pretty much what I am going for anyways, the protein in the feeder should be enough, I know I wont see any improvement in antlers this season anyhow. Plus, With all the soybeans we had around the property and with the protein level being high in the beans, I think next years antler growth should be fairly good, given that we have good rain fall this summer.
Mainly All I want the salt lick for is to get a good idea of what types of bucks I will have running through my area.
