I live on a large acrage place in the Willamette Valley of Western Oregon where there are blackatail deer. We have some deer that look like they could be nice shooters in a couple of years if we can get them to feed and live on our place. I have read a lot about certain plants that blacktail like, and have read reviews on things on Cabelas but I am not 100% possitive I know what I want to do. I have heard that it would be a good idea to plant a clover and chicory blend and maybe some turnips (something that should grow all year long or most of it.) We have some apple trees and they eat those but there are not many of them. Maybe it would be a good idea to plant apple and/or pear trees?
Any good ideas for a food plot mixture????

Clover is always a good choice if the land is suitable for it
You would do goo to talk to our local extension agent about your
possible choices as he would know about the soil and climate better than me
But I'm a Whitetail institute of North America man myself and they'll be glad to
advise and assist you if you'd call em
