I need everyone best judgement. This evening at dark, a buck point came in at my stand here in fla, behind my house. I had two does see me and semi-spook, and altered the buck. he turned to bolt, was about 9-10 yards away. he was quarting two ,but not too much.i shot heard a thud, not a thwach. he stood there half a second leaded foward like was going too fall, and took off.not that fast though. My bow is 64lbbs. 3 blade rage. got down after 20 minutes. found broken arrow back end about 10 inches left. and 3-4 spots of stomach matter on the ground. followed guts for 5 feet, nothing for 40 yards, then dark red blood in a spot th size of a baskerball, hen a goood trail about 40-50 yards, then a few drops of guts ,followed it into a thicket and jumped him, and i backed out, do you all think go look in the morning and he shouldn'e be far?

Definitely go look in the morning. I'd have waited till morning the second I saw the stomach contents. Id go at first light though so as to not have another hunter stumble on to it and to help reduce the chances of wild animals making a meal of the hind quarters. Good luck in recovering it in the morning. Be sure to fill us in and post up some pics of him when you find him.

Well i went back this morning with the dog, and she picked up tthe trail pretty quick. The buck ended up going about 200 yards, entrance hole right behind the right front shoulder, exit hole dead center of the bottom of the belly. with the rest of the arrow still in the deer. The body cavity was full of blood explaning why i had some blood then guts and nothing for the last 80 or so yards.

you are lucky to have had a dog to help. In a situation like that (near dark, unsure of shot, found feces) you should have waited til morning, You would have found him where you jumped him. He was trying to lay down and die there.
