Alright well its bow season for most people. So i thought i would throw something out there about bow shooting. Has anybody robin hooded an arrow? For those of you that dont know what that is that is where you shoot and arrow into another arrow. Therefore splitting it. I did it the second day i had ever shot a bow. it was pretty cool. Anybody ever done it? I left mine in there cause it looked so cool. lol but there went to arrows but oh well! haha

I've done it twice in almost 20 years of shooting a bow. Once with xx78's with the uni bushing system and once with carbon express arrows. The aluminum incident was in the late 90's at 20 yards. The one with the carbon was probably the strangest one of all. I did that one at 60 yards. I guess when you shoot a half dozen arrows and hold a good group its inevitable, but I haven't done it since.

I normally shoot at multiple spots on the targets now. I used to dent up my aluminum's and cut the fletchings off when practicing with broadheads. I only took a few arrows ruined to teach me to use my head.

I have done it twice, well technically three times. We were shooting our league course and the target was a deer at roughly 25 yards. My buddy shot his three arrows first and one was a perfect shot, so I decided to aim for it. On my first shot I drilled his arrow, it penetrated about 1/3 of the way, my second shot was a hair higher and on my third shot I dang near robin hooded my first arrow. You can see where it went in the arrow for about 3-4 inches and then went out the side. Was really cool at the time, I have also done it one other time to the same guys arrow!! He has only got me back once.

Is it robin hooding if its done to a deer instead of an arrow? (read special note below photo)

Note: I have altered the original photo to make this look like the deer was shot in the rear. This photo is fake.

You guys need to shoot Easton ACC's. (A/C/C)
Let me tell you a little story.
I get me a new 1/2 dozen ACC's and I go hunting. I hunt about 4 times and not see a thing. I go out hunting again and this really big fox squirrel is 15 yards from the bottom of my stand. If you ever shot ACC's you'll notice these things are solid and durable.
I Finally get tired of this squirrel and decide to let it have it. I release and the arrow pierces the squirrel thru the skin between his belly and back leg. This little squirrel goes nuts, spins around grabs my arrow and starts gnawing the fletching off. I had to get out of the tree and knock him out with stick.
