I would take him with you ,,,,, I would put him in your best stand
you could always re set one for your self I would make sure i had set of raidios , in case he needs something ,, I had try'd this with my dad and he seen deer but no shot , weather he gets one or not the important thing is that you spend as much time with him ,, as you never know what will happen ,with my dad it ended up cancer and I was lucky to get to spend alot of time with him ,,, you just never know ,
he may just stick the biggest buck you have seen , and that would of been the best thing that could of ever happend to me mdel747

For the late season, hunt food sources. Sitting in the cold is a challenge. If you hunt up north baiting works great.

I 2nd the idea of hunting food sources.

I rarely hunt in the morning during the colder second season.

I prefer to find a food source, and set up about 75-150 yards back into the woods.

If your dad had just taken up bow hunting, I would encourage him to take his first good shot at a doe. The experience of shooting at a deer is exciting, whether buck or doe.

Good luck.
