Some pictures of a few bears harvested in the 05 bear hunt in Jersey . They released a study done and they said North Jersey held some of the biggest bears on all of the east coast . One was shot over 700 pounds this year .

What are the dates for archery/black bear ?

No bow hunt for bear . This was only the second bear hunt in like 35 years . I do not think we will have another next year .The antis did the best they could do to stop it this year . I am sure NJ will not have one next year just to please them .

I was kinda keeping an eye on it last year.
anti's ended up getting thier way.

I rarely see any over 450 pounds here in Wisconsin. Though we do have some big ones now and then.

From the info I have seen there were 2 bears taken in NJ this year that passed the 700lb. mark!!!! Some real big boy's!!! There is one by my house that was seen after the season that is in the 600-700lb. range! I hope there is a season next year too........... I know part of that big boy's range.....

Any word on the Bear hunt for this year?? Hope it's a go again :-)
